Sometime this year, possibly as soon as April, WordPress will be releasing a huge update to their main page/post editing tool called “Gutenberg”. While this will have a major impact on how users interact with WordPress, it will also greatly impact how sites are built in the future.
This will be a relatively non-technical look at Gutenberg. We’ll talk about how it works, how to use it, how to start playing with it today, and how to get your site ready for it.
I’ll also encourage a lot of discussion in this session, so if you’re familiar with Gutenberg please attend and share your views. There are a lot of opinions about how this will shape the future of WordPress (both good and bad) and your opinions are just as valid as mine. No one knows for sure what’s going to happen, so hearing from various viewpoints is a valuable thing to do right now.
If you’re a WordPress user, designer, or developer, you need to quickly begin to understand how Gutenberg will affect what you do.
